NEW DELHI: Gautam Gambhir is known for his serious demeanor both on and off the cricket field. Whether he's engaged in a match, traveling, attending events, sitting in the dugout, or interacting with fellow players, Gambhir is seldom spotted smiling, often maintaining a serious countenance.
However, a dedicated Kolkata Knight Riders fan managed to accomplish the seemingly impossible task.
Gambhir received an unusual request from a KKR supporter.
The image of the fan holding a placard with the message "I will not propose to my crush until Gambhir smiles" went viral on social media.
In response, Gambhir fulfilled the fan's dream by sharing the fan's photo on his Instagram account, accompanied by his own smiling picture, captioned simply: "Here you go."
KKR have won the IPL title twice in 2012 and 2014 and both the triumphs came under Gambhir's captaincy.
Gambhir is currently the mentor of the KKR and under his guidance, KKR became the first team to enter the playoffs of the IPL 2024.
KKR are currently on top of the points tally with 9 wins and 3 losses in 13 matches. They have 19 points to their name.
