A wedding disaster was averted after a TUI crew member based in Newcastle flew a bridesmaid's dress all the way to Cyprus - after she forgot to pack it!
Bride Gemma O'Shea, 31, a charity manager from Gateshead, was getting married in Paphos but found that her bridesmaid Lauren Fernandes, 29, had forgotten to pack her dress on arriving at the Coral Beach Hotel & Resort. Her wedding planner posted a call for her on a TUI staff Facebook group to see if anyone flying to Paphos could save the day and get the dress there in time for the wedding.
Sue Peak, TUI cabin crew regional manager, wasn't working but saw the message, and discovered a flight leaving from Newcastle to Larnaca within hours - and the race began to get the dress to the airport and onto the sun-kissed Mediterranean island.
