Gas has crossed the $4-a-gallon mark again nationwide, and the latest AAA figure makes that painfully clear. On September 25, the national average for regular gasoline stood at about $4.49 a gallon, with prices still climbing.
That makes every inefficient driving habit a little more expensive. The car does not care whether a gallon costs $3 or $4.49. It burns the fuel anyway. The difference shows up later on the credit card statement.
