Gary Neville reveals Arsenal top-four 'doubts' after lacklustre Brighton Premier League defeat

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has indicated his own 'doubts' on Arsenal chances of finishing in the top four this season. The Gunners have faltered of late with recent losses against Crystal Palace and Brighton, with Mikel Arteta's side now behind North London rivals Spurs with just eight games to go.

With tricky tests still to come against Chelsea, Man Utd and Tottenham before the end of the season, there is still work to be done in order to ensure success for Arteta's men this season.

The Red Devils and West Ham have also since fallen away given their own recent bad form, with former United defender Neville amplifying his opinions on the recent episode of the 'Gary Neville Podcast '.

The Salford City co-owner began: "I never trusted Arsenal really and I said that publicly. Three in four losses? I said a few weeks ago I didn’t trust Arsenal fully and the reason behind that was because they needed to prove they could go through a run in where they were favourites for the top four. Those doubts are starting to come to the fore.

"I have to say I think Tottenham are just basically getting there through the fact they’ve had a bit of experience in the last three or four, five years of getting into the Champions League. And through Manchester United and Arsenal’s woes, and West Ham have lost as well.

"You’re almost in some ways thinking ‘well over to you Tottenham, you may as well go and take the Champions League place, why not? We know they’ve got an exceptional front two/front three'."

Arsenal return to action with a potentially tricky test against Southampton St. Mary's next weekend, with Arteta's men keen to bounce back from their recent woes with a victory on the south coast.
