Gary Lucy has paid tribute to the NHS staff who saved his life following a horrific car crash.
The Hollyoaks actor, 41, also thanked 'one special nurse in particular' as he shared a sweet tribute to his new girlfriend, former Love Island star Laura Anderson.
Scottish star Laura and Gary - who met thanks to TV show Celebs Go Dating - had been spending their first Christmas together when the former Footballers' Wives actor ended up in Glasgow Royal Infirmary on Boxing Day thanks to crashing his vehicle.
Gary shared pictures on Instagram of his car after the smash, which had been left a wreck, telling followers "Someone was watching over me today [100 per cent emoji]."
In another picture of black car, which had its destroyed engine on show and it's bonnet mangled, Gary, known for playing Will Fletcher on Hollyoaks, wrote: "Gary 9 lives [praying hands emoji]."
He also shared photos of himself in a hospital bed wearing a gown, and then in a brown suit wearing a leg brace on one limb and using crutches.
Taking to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday [December 27], Gary reposted a collage of snaps originally posted by girlfriend Laura as he wrote: "Huge thank you to all at Glasgow Royal Infirmary Hospital."
The star then added a personal message for his reality TV star beau, writing: "And to one special nurse in particular... @lauraanderson1x," alongside three red heart emojis.
Laura - who entered the Love Island villa in 2018 - also paid tribute to her partner on Instagram on Tuesday, as she shared a sweet snap of herself cuddled up to Gary and her dog while wearing matching PJs.
"Christmas time," the former flight attendant began in her caption.
"It’s always a little bit sad not being able to spend the festive period with everyone you’d like to but here is our first Christmas together."
She added: "gary.lucy I love you my darling and your strength doesn’t go unnoticed."
Celebs Go Dating matchmaker Anna Williams was one of the many to comment on Laura's festive post, writing: "Love this and love you two."
Following Gary's Boxing Day crash, Laura thanks a saint for sparing her new boyfriend's life.
The star took to her Instagram to share a snap of the saint card which Gary had been given by his gran.
Alongside the picture, she wrote: "We’re not religious but thank you St Joseph for saving my love.
"Gary’s gran gave him this, it had words about safety and protection on the other side. I pulled it out of his bag yesterday morning just before his accident."
She went on to ask her followers: "Do you keep anything sentimental with you for protection?"
Despite the horror crash, the Celebs Go Dating stars managed to spend their first Christmas together as a couple.
Gary drove up to Scotland on Christmas Eve to spend the festive season with Laura and her family, after first meeting thanks to the star-studded E4 dating series.
The celebrity couple were first spotted cosying up together in September before going from strength to strength after making their romance official a month later.
