Former Hollyoaks star Gary Lucy has been replaced in his villainous role at the Sunderland Empire after his Boxing Day crash.
Gary has impressing the audience in his role as Abanazar in the pantomime Aladdin over the festive period, but the 41-year-old actor was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary after terrifying Boxing Day crash.
But, the Sunderland Empire says the star will not be performing at the moment as he recovers from the incident.

In a post on Twitter, an Empire spokesman said: "Following his car accident yesterday, we would like to take the opportunity to wish Gary a very speedy recovery.
"We’re hoping to welcome Gary back to the Aladdin cast soon but in the meantime, the role of Abanazar will be played by our talented understudy."
The former Footballers' Wives actor shared pictures of his mangled vehicle and photographs in hospital on Instagram.
Writing on his Instagram stories, he said: "Someone was watching over me today" and captioned a second picture: "Gary nine lives."
The images showed the wrecked car by the side of the road with the front end caved in and front wheels missing.
His girlfriend and former Love Island star Laura Anderson shared a number of pictures to her Instagram story following the incident.
