Gary Lineker labels Evan Ferguson a 'real centre forward' as Irish teenager's star continues to rise

Gary Lineker believes Ireland's Evan Ferguson is developing into a 'real centre forward.'

The Bettystown teenager was the star of the show as Brighton thumped Grimsby 5-0 in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Scoring two vital goals in the second period, Ferguson helped Brighton book a semi-final date with the winners of Manchester United v Fulham.

Ferguson has impressed many this season with his stunning displays. Lineker is a big fan, and sees big things in the Meath starlets future.

"18 year old, Evan Ferguson raps it up for @OfficialBHAFC with his second goal. I see a real centre forward before my eyes," wrote Lineker on Twitter.

Ferguson has been in sparkling form since the turn of the year and has now scored seven goals in 15 appearances this season.

With Ireland set to host Latvia and France at the Aviva Stadium next week, Stephen will be hoping that his red-hot scoring form continues.
