A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday and garda inquiries are continuing.
Investigating officers have said they are looking to speak to anyone who was "in the vicinity of Blanchardstown Road North, the Old Navan Road and Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and surrounding areas between 12:00 am and 3:00 am” on the day of the incident.
They are particularly pleading with anyone who “observed any activity which drew their attention" at the time in this location to come forward.
A garda spokesperson added: "Any road users (particularly taxi drivers) or pedestrians who were travelling in these areas at these times who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí."
Anyone with information can contact gardai at Blanchardstown or the Garda Confidential Line.
