A pensioner is in hospital tonight following an alleged assault which occurred in Corofin, Co Clare.
The male, in his 70s, is understood to have received non-life threatening injuries in the alleged incident that happened on Sunday night, May 21.
He remained in Limerick University Hospital where he is receiving treatment, gardai confirmed.

Gardai are investigating whether the man was involved in a verbal altercation with a small group of people after he walked past them which then turned physical.
A spokesperson for the gardaí said that enquiries are ongoing and are yet to receive a statement from the 70-year-old.
