Gardai launch investigation after man hospitalised after assault in Dublin city on reopening night

A man was left in hospital after a vicious assault on Saturday evening in Dublin city centre.

The incident occurred on the first night since restrictions on the hospitality industry were lifted, including the 8pm curfew.

Thousands of people celebrated across the nation, but one man had his night ended in a sore fashion after the assault in the capital.
