A man has died after two vans collided in a horror crash in Co Kildare.
The incident happened near the Moyvalley area at around 2am on Sunday.
Gardai and emergency services raced to the scene but a man in his 60s who was driving one of the vans was pronounced dead.
His body has been brought to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital.
A second man, aged in his 30s, who was a passenger in the second van, was brought to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown to be treated for his injuries.
However they are understood to be non-life threatening.
Gardai have now closed the road to allow for an examination of the scene and local diversions are in place.
Officers are also calling on anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to come forward with any information.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co. Kildare, in the early hours of this morning, Sunday 6th February 2022.
"Shortly after 2:00am, Gardaí were alerted to a two van RTC on the N4, Moyvalley. A man in his 60s, the driver of one of the vans, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The road is currently closed to allow for a technical examination to be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
"Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
