Two people have been arrested in relation to suspected accommodation fraud in South Dublin.
Warnings over the common scam have been lacing the news as thousands of students head back to college nationwide.
Officers arrested a 30-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman following searches of residences as part of an operation to bring a stop to the fraudulent behaviour.

According to a garda spokesperson, two residences were searched in Dublin by Gardaí from the Blackrock Detective unit. They were assisted by uniform units from Blackrock and members from Raheny Garda station this morning, Thursday, September 29, 2022.
During the searches Gardaí also seized a sum of cash, mobile phones, and a number of documents.
Both people arrested are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Blackrock Garda station.
A statement from an Garda Siochana confirmed: “Gardaí have arrested one man and one woman and searched two residences as part of an ongoing investigation into Accommodation Fraud in South Dublin.
“As part of this ongoing investigation, two residences were searched in Dublin 13 by Gardaí from Blackrock Detective unit and assisted by uniform units from Blackrock and members from Raheny Garda station this morning Thursday 29th September 2022.
“During the searches Gardaí seized a sum of cash, mobile phones, and a number of documents.
“Both the man (aged 30 years) and woman (24 years) were arrested as part of the operation. They are both currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Blackrock Garda station.”
Investigations are ongoing.
