Game of Thrones star James Cosmo spotted at Glasgow Central train station

Game of Thrones actor James Cosmo has been spotted at a Glasgow train station.

The Clydebank actor, who plays Jeor Mormont in the hit HBO fantasy drama series, left fans stunned as he appeared at Glasgow Central Station on Wednesday.

The picture was shared by an employee working for New Town skip Hire in Motherwell.

The Scottish staff member can be seen posing for a snap with the Scots actor underneath the iconic clock among the hustle and bustle of the busy city centre building.

Taking to Facebook, the firm wrote: "Newtown meets James Cosmo," as they shared a Scottish flag attached to the post.

Fans rushed to the comments to share their excitement over the encounter.

One person wrote: "Great picture."

"Beautiful!," another person quipped.

The 75-year-old is famous for roles in TV shows and movies such as Scottish classics Trainspotting and Braveheart. He was in the city just last month for the Glasgow Film Festival.

James grew up between Highgate, north London and Clydebank and left school at 15 to work in a shipbreakers’ yard.

It was his love of books which reportedly led him into acting when he joined a local drama class at Clydebank Repertory Theatre alongside Ian Tough, who would later become one-half of The Krankies.

The showbiz star landed a part in the Scottish drama series Dr Finlay’s Casebook at the age of only 17, in which his actor father was starring. He was honoured with an MBE in 2017 for services to drama.

He has been married to his wife Annie since 2000 with the couple sharing two sons, Findlay and Ethan. They lived in Twickenham, southwest London before moving to Chertsey in Surrey in the Nineties.
