Gabrielle announces 30th anniversary tour for autumn 2022 - here's how to get tickets

July is here - and with it, the promise of consistently warmer weather and bright sunshine.

On the Manchester music scene this week, the summer festivals continue with Sounds of the City currently in full swing, featuring big names like The Libertines, Pixies, Sam Fender and Hacienda Classical.

There's also some new tour announcements - Gabrielle is celebrating 30 years since her debut hit single with her upcoming autumn shows, whilst BRIT-nominee Maverick Sabre marks 10 years in the industry with his national tour.

Sounds of the City featuring The Libertines - Castlefield Bowl, Manchester

July 1-8, 2022

Since 2013, Sounds of the City has become an integral part of the Manchester music scene.

The festival has seen some of the most acclaimed live artists take to the stage from the likes of Kylie, The National, Chic, New Order, Arcade Fire, The Kooks, Elbow, The Wombats, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Rag’N’Bone Man, Last Shadow Puppets, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Paolo Nutini, and Courteeners.

Gabrielle – Bridgewater Hall, Manchester

Recently announced, Gabrielle’s extensive autumn tour will see her celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of her era-defining smash hit #1 single Dreams, and perform highlights from her catalogue of hits including Rise, Out Of Reach, and Sunshine.

Gabrielle said: “Going on tour to celebrate 30 years of Dreams is amazing. I can’t wait to party with everyone and celebrate the record that launched my career three decades ago! Time sure does fly when you are having fun.”

Maverick Sabre – Albert Hall, Manchester

Maverick Sabre has announced a four-date national tour to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of his seminal genre-blending debut Lonely Are The Brave.

Performing the album in full for the first time, the platinum #2 release catapulted the Irish artist to prominence, leading to a BRIT nomination and countless industry accolades.

Maxïmo Park – Manchester Academy

As a band well-known for their album craft but equally beloved for their stand-out big-hitters, the Sïngular Tour is a rare chance to hear Maxïmo Park press play on the jukebox they’ve been meticulously curating over the last 18 years.

Celebrating the art of the single, the band will perform the likes of Apply Some Pressure and Going Missing from their breakthrough debut album A Certain Trigger, to All Of Me from their latest album Nature Always Wins, via whirlwind fan-favourites like The National Health and Our Velocity.

It will be a show unlike any they have presented before.

Kehlani – O2 Warehouse, Manchester

Since 2014, Kehlani’s light has only continued to glow brighter.

Thus far, she has picked up over 20 gold and platinum RIAA certifications, tallied five billion streams, and garnered a pair of Grammy Award nominations in the categories of Best Urban Contemporary Album for the gold-certified mixtape You Should Be Here and Best R&B Performance for the platinum single Distraction.

Kula Shaker – Albert Hall, Manchester

Kula Shaker are playing their first UK tour in six years!
