Gabby Jeffery has disclosed the full truth on how she ended up on Love Island, in a candid Q&A with fans on Instagram.
Gabby, 24, who has worked as a creative assistant for high profile fashion brand Pretty Little Thing, a big favourite with Love Island stars,. went into the ITV show two weeks ago, as one of six new female bombshells for this year's Casa Amor week. The Gateshead girl sparked an immediate reaction from viewers, largely down to her stunning looks and the more than passing resemblance she bore to original Islander, Ella Thomas.
Hopes were high amongst friends and family back home in Leam Lane and Love Island fans that Gabby would cause enough of a stir to stay on the show after Casa ended, however, after expressing a keen interest in Scott, Zach and Mitch before going into the villa, Gabby didn't turn any of their heads and, while she shared a kiss with Sammy, ended up being one of six new arrivals dumped by host Maya Jama after the Casa recoupling.
Nearly a week on from her Love Island exit, Gabby's name did come up in conversation back in the villa, when Scott confided in Abi that, having seen Catherine return to the main villa with new boy Elom, he regretted not 'going for it' with Gabby.
And now, back at home in the UK, Gabby has opened up on how she was actually first approached to apply for Love Island three years ago, only for Covid to throw a major spanner in the works first time round. Answering fans' questions on Instagram, she explained: "I was actually first asked in the 2020 series, I did interviews then, but obviously Covid happened so it didn't go ahead.
"And then they contacted me again in 2021 for that series and nothing ever came of it.....ermmm....and then again this year and, obviously, here we are today."
In the Instagram chat, Gabby was also put the spot on who her favourite couple was in the villa, to which she gave, in her words, the 'controversial' answer of Zach and Molly.
