G7 Group of Seven The Yomiuri Shimbun Artificial Intelligence Internet

Group of Seven digital ministers will adopt an artificial intelligence action plan for the first time later this month to promote the responsible use of AI, The Yomiuri Shimbun has learned.

The move is aimed at creating a safe environment for the use of AI technology such as ChatGPT. The action plan also aims to tackle problems related to data leaks, among other issues.

G7 members will aim to improve the trustworthiness of the internet and tackle the spread of false information, according to a draft of the joint statement to be announced at the G7 Digital and Tech Ministers' Meeting in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, on April 29 and 30.
