The financial details of Leeds United's 'amicable' agreement with RB Leipzig over Jean-Kevin Augustin have been revealed by German outlet Bild. They claim that the Whites are having to pay the full €21m fee, as well as €340,000, but Leipzig are reported to have been 'accommodating with the payment modalities', indicating it can be paid in instalments.
The dispute originated from Leeds' deal to sign Augustin on loan in January 2020, with the deal including a €21m obligation to buy if they won promotion. Leeds went on to achieve that feat, however their argument was that the date to sign him had passed due to Covid, which meant the season was put on hold for three months.
Augustin had numerous fitness issues at Leeds and played just three times during his brief spell in West Yorkshire, and played no part upon the resumption of the campaign due to injury. The date for these types of deals to go through is June 30, which is regarded as the end of the regular season, which in this case, it wasn't.

FIFA ruled in favour of Leipzig following the dispute between the two clubs, but Leeds were not happy to let it go there and submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). They also ruled in favour of the German outfit.
Leeds were minded to appeal again but instead confirmed earlier this week that a resolution had been reached with Leipzig, meaning it can now all be put to bed.
