Dunk king Vince Carter has ensured Johnny Furphy's NBA stocks continue to soar despite the Australian being sidelined by an ankle injury.

The 20-year-old has missed the last four games for Indiana and played just five times for the battling 1-10 Pacers after an early season foot injury.

He missed Wednesday's (AEST) 152-128 loss to Utah and will likely sit out Friday's clash with Phoenix before a potential return at home against Toronto on Sunday.
