Full list of supermarket products recalled from Asda, Tesco, Aldi and Waitrose over health risks

Supermarket shoppers have been urged to check their cupboards for a variety of food products that have recently been recalled from store shelves due to health concerns.

The Express reports that a number of supermarkets have issued recalls for a variety of products due to undeclared ingredients, leading to a health risk for certain consumers.

Among the supermarkets that have issued recalls are Asda, Aldi, Waitrose, Tesco and M&S, with products from Quorn Foods and My Sweet Chickpea also being affected.

Food recalls are issued by the Food Standards Agency when a product is found to be unsafe due to a number of reasons, such as undeclared ingredients and incorrect labelling.

To help make sure you are safe, we have information below on all the details of the ongoing recalls that have currently been issued.

Asda

Asda has issued an urgent recall for the Tiger Tiger Taste Japan Mirin 150ml bottle of cooking sauce over the presence of soy which has not been declared on the ingredients.

The recall has affected all date codes and shoppers are urged to look for the barcode number 502444 8552476.

Asda said: “Some bottles labelled of Mirin have been incorrectly packed and contain Teriyaki Sauce Affected product contains soy – which is not declared on the label.”

Tesco

Tesco currently has an ongoing recall for the Creamfields grated cheddar 500g because it may contain small pieces of plastic, making it unsafe to eat.

The product affected has a best before date of March 23, 2023.

The company has issued recall noticed in-stores and customers are being urged not to consumer the product, but to return it to stores immediately.

Tesco is also recalling one date code of its own-branded Arrabbiata Sauce because it may contain milk which is not mentioned on the label.

The 350g pack size has a use by date of March 2, 2023.

Customers are being urged not to consumer the product and to return it to stores for a full refund.

Aldi

The supermarket has recalled the Plant Menu Organic Super Firm Tofu, which is being recalled “from a limited number of stores in the Midlands due to an isolated temperature control issue”.

The product affected is a 200g size pack size with use by dates of 13 April 2023 and 14 April 2023.

Aldi has said insufficient temperature control may result in spoilage of the product, which is why customers from affected stores are being urged to return it to stores for a full refund.

The supermarket has also issued a recall for various Harvest Morn High Protein Bars because they contain milk and/or peanuts and/or soya which may not be emphasised in bold type on the label.

Aldi has recalled a number of Harvest Morn protein bars (FSA)

The affected products are as follows;

  • Harvest Morn High Protein Birthday Cake, 60g - all batch codes. Allergens: Milk
  • Harvest Morn High Protein Cookie Dough, 60g - all batch codes. Allergens: Milk, Peanuts, Soya
  • Harvest Morn High Protein Salted Caramel, 60g - all batch codes. Allergens: Milk, Soya
  • Harvest Morn High Protein Peanut Butter, 60g - all batch codes. Allergens: Milk, Peanuts
  • Harvest Morn High Protein Mint, 60g - all batch codes. Allergens: Milk, Soya
  • Harvest Morn High Protein Jaffa Orange, 60g - all batch codes. Allergens: Milk, Soya
  • Harvest Morn Multipack High Protein Peanut Butter, 180g - all batch codes. Allergens: Milk, Soya
  • Harvest Morn Multipack High Protein Cookie Dough, 180g - all batch codes. Allergens: Milk, Peanuts, Soya

Waitrose

Waitrose is recalling the Tomato Mozzarella Arancini over the possible presence of gluten which poses a health risk for anyone who has an allergy/intolerance to wheat.

Pack size is 300g with a use by date of March 23, 2023.

Customers have been asked to not consume, package the item up and return the product to your local Waitrose & Partners branch for a refund.

Marks and Spencer

M&S is recalling its Belgian Dark Chocolate Bar as some packs contain milk which has not been mentioned on the label, making the product unsafe for anyone with an allergy/intolerance.

The pack size is 180g with a use by date of 9 September 2023, and the barcode number is 29087570.

M&S customers have been urged to return the product to stores where it csn be exchanged for a full refund.

Quorn

Quorn Sedish Style Balls have been recalled over fears they contain small pieces of plastic (FSA)

Quorn Foods has issued a recall for its Swedish Style Balls because they may contain small pieces of plastic, making them unsafe to eat due to a choking hazard.

The product affected is a 300g pack size with a use by date of September 20, 2024.

Quorn’s Frozen Swedish Style Balls are sold at Waitrose, Tesco, Asda, and customers are asked to return them to the store where they purchased them for a full refund.

My Sweet Chickpea Products

My Sweet Chickpea products, found in Asda and Aldi, are being recalled because of undeclared milk.

A variety of bars have been affected and shoppers are being urged to return them to the store they were purchased in.
