Drivers travelling on the M6 this week have been urged to plan ahead as roadworks are carried out.
Vital planned improvements and repair works are being carried out on stretches of the major motorway both during the day and overnight. A full closure will be in place between junction 33 and junction 32 overnight from November 15 to November 25.
Drivers have been urged to plan ahead due to diversions and possible delays. Our colleagues at Lancs Live have complied a list of some of the works most likely to affect journeys this week.

There are also plans for areas such as the M65 and A595 which have not been included as they are expected to cause no delays to journeys. Reasons for those include barrier repairs and horticultural works.
Here are some of the issues to look out for this week.
- The M6 southbound will be fully closed between junctions J45 and J44 for roadworks between 8pm on November 20 and 5am on November 21.
- The M6 northbound will have lane closures between junctions J34 and J35 to allow barrier repairs are planned from 10pm on November 19 to 5am the next day.
- The M6 northbound will have a lane closure between junctions J36 and J37 for barrier repair from 7.30pm on November 18 to 5am the next day.
- The M6 northbound between junctions J41 and J42 is due to have two of its three lanes closed between 8pm-6am each day from November 13-16. Those works are pending confirmation.
- The M6 southbound is due to be fully closed from between junctions J33 and J32 overnight from Novermber 15-25. The closures will be in place from 9pm-6am the first four nights and 9pm-5am thereafter. The M6 southbound entry slip at junction J33 will be closed at the same times as a result of the same works.
- The M61 southbound will have a lane closure between junctions J8 and J6 from 9pm on November 17 until 5am on November 18.
- The M6 southbound at junction J37 is due to be fully closed for barrier repairs between 7pm on November and 5am on November 19. Those works are pending confirmation.
