Irish shoppers are being warned to check their fridges and freezers after a number of food recall notices have been issued by the FSAI over food safety fears.
Any shops that stocked the impacted products will have point of sale notices posted in their store and will provide shoppers with refunds for returning any of the affected batches.
The FSAI said: “Food alerts are notifications issued by the FSAI to official agencies and food businesses or other businesses relating to an identified hazard i.e. a biological, chemical or physical agent in, or condition of, food/food contact materials with the potential to cause an adverse health effect.

Villani Cacciatore Italiano Salami
The above batch of Villani Cacciatore Italiano salami is being recalled due to the presence of Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes .
Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch.
People infected with Salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between 6 and 72 hours.

The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody. Diarrhoea can occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission.
Other symptoms may include fever, headache and abdominal cramps.
The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days. The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness.
Hao Hao Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles
The batch of Háo Háo Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles is being recalled due to the presence of the unauthorised pesticide ethylene oxide.
This pesticide is not authorised for use in foods sold in the EU.
Although the consumption of the contaminated product does not pose an acute risk to health, there may be health issues if there is continued consumption of ethylene oxide over a long period of time.
Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch: SG B6; best before date: 18/09/2022.
Marks and Spencer Products Containing Chicken
Marks & Spencer is recalling some products containing chicken due to the possible presence of Salmonella.
Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batches.
Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches.
Just Free Gluten Free Pudding
Gluten was detected in the above batch of Just Free Gluten Free Black Pudding, which is not declared on the label, and therefore the batch is being recalled.
The FSAI said the batch may be unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of cereals containing gluten.
Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in Lidl stores supplied with the implicated batches: 041-22; use by date: 20/05/2022.
Green Box Limited Cendawan Enoki Mushroom
The above batch of Green Box Limited Cendawan Enoki Mushroom is being recalled due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch.
