At the moment in Scotland, there are more than 500 active speed cameras keeping drivers to a certain limit while out and about on the roads.
In Edinburgh, there are 34 located in and around the city, with six in East Lothian and nine in West Lothian. Mid Lothian has eight speed cameras currently operating, meaning that in the Edinburgh and Lothians area, there are 57 speed cameras in total.
The number in the capital and surrounding areas is comparatively low compared to the west coast, as Glasgow has 72 speed cameras alone in the city - not including surrounding county's.
