More people are turning to online services to manage their money meaning that banks are disappearing from high streets.
According to Which?, banks and building societies have closed, or have scheduled to close, a total of 5,355 branches since January 2015. Many banks, including Lloyds, Halifax and NatWest have already announced further closures for 2023.
In total, another 193 banks are scheduled to shut in 2023. HSBC said it would shutter 114 banks - around a quarter of its total sites - in 2023. Meanwhile, Lloyds is closing a further 14 banks next year and NatWest currently has 43 scheduled to shut their doors forever, reported The Mirror.
