Millions of people who claim benefits, such as Universal Credit, could save thousands of pounds this winter.
Around six millions people are currently claiming Universal Credit, which is a government payment to help with your living costs. However, many of them will not be aware that there are 30 freebies and discounts that they could also be claiming.
They include to £10,000 to pay for a new boiler or home insulation, free prescriptions for people with zero income or those on a low income, deduced council tax bills and £150 towards school uniforms. Some of these are location-dependent, so it is worth checking your eligibility as you may be missing out on huge savings.

- Homeowners can apply for up to £10,000 to pay for a boiler
