Linda Pizzuti, wife of Liverpool’s principal owner John W. Henry, has sent a penalty message after the FA Cup final win.
The Reds have won the prestigious trophy for an eighth time at Wembley Stadium. The tie finished goalless after extra time, with another shootout needed to decide the winner just like the Carabao Cup final earlier this year.
Milner, Thiago Alcantara, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota all scored their spot-kicks, with Sadio Mane missing his. Kostas Tsimikas stepped up to score the decisive penalty to win the shootout.
It’s the second trophy that Liverpool have won this season, following the Carabao Cup success in February. It’s also the sixth major trophy that Jurgen Klopp has won during his time on Merseyside.
With another shootout needed to determine Liverpool’s win in a cup final, Pizzuti took to Instragam to express her nerves over the process. She went on to praise the efforts of the Reds in the season as a whole.
“From 700 Clubs to 1,” wrote Pizzuti. “What a season. What a club.
“Also, I still can’t handle [the] stress of PK’s [penalty kicks].”
