Friends fans have called for a scene in the hit 90s sitcom which appears to foreshadow Matthew Perry's death to be cut from the episode.
The Chandler Bing actor died aged 54 on October 28 at his home in Los Angeles in an apparent drowning.
The scene in question is from the fifth episode of season seven, titled The One With The Engagement Picture, and originally aired in 2000.
It shows Perry’s character and Monica Gellar (Courteney Cox) having their photo professionally taken for their wedding announcement.While Monica is posing, Chandler struggles to smile naturally, so his fiancée asks: “What is the matter with your face? Like, this picture is supposed to say Gellar and Bing to be married. Not local woman saves drowning moron.”

When the photographer starts to laugh in agreement, Monica becomes annoyed and says: “Hey don’t laugh at him! He’s my drowning moron,” which results in Chandler’s facial expression easing.
Given Perry’s untimely passing, this no longer sat right with some fans and has amassed over 13m views after being uploaded to TikTok.“Could this scene BE any more eerie,” wrote one person.
“They gotta take this scene out of the show, man. They pretty much predicted the future,” agreed a second.
“Nah they gotta cut this scene out now,” penned a third.Not everyone was of this opinion, however.
“Everyone saying delete this scene was too young or not even born when this scene happened... let the show stay how it was intended!” argued one person.“Yes, he had a good sense of humour and was good at making people laugh, let’s leave the laughs he provided for us in that show as is,” agreed another.
A number of celebrities have paid tribute to Perry following his death, including his Friends co-stars Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matt Le Blanc, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow.
One person who had a different take on it, however, was Loose Women star Janet Street Porter.
She came under fire after tweeting: “Am I the only person who has managed to live a fulfilling life without watching Friends?”
