A vessel was struck by an unknown projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz as the conflict in the region continues to escalate despite BRICS nations calling for exercising maximum restraint in West Asia.

According to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the status of the crew, damage assessment and environmental impact are unknown at present.
