Longstaff to Forest?
Nottingham Forest are reportedly preparing a £2m swoop for Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.
According to today's Sunday Mirror, the Reds are keen on the midfielder who was all set for a move to Everton.
But Rafa Benitez's sacking has put the deal on hold and there is serious doubt as to whether he will be heading to Goodison Park this month.
Longstaff is reportedly being allowed to leave Tyneside by boss Eddie Howe despite the club being in a fight to save themselves from relegation from the Premier League.
Longstaff did feature for the Toon Army against Leeds at the weekend having played nearly 50 minutes in the win at Elland Road.
Midfield is a position that Forest are already well-stocked with Ryan Yates, James Garner, Jack Colback, Brian Ojeda and Cafu all fighting for a place in Steve Cooper's side.
Morrison takes to Instagram
Derby County's Ravel Morrison has appeared to question why he was sent off against Nottingham Forest but Reds forward Lewis Grabban escaped similar punishment.
Morrison was instantly dismissed deep into stoppage time for a tackle on winger Philip Zinckernagel as the Rams slipped to a 2-1 defeat.
Morrison now faces a three-match ban as a result although Derby fans were left raging at Grabban's challenge on Liam Thompson.
Morrison has now spoken out on Instagram with pictures of both challenges.
On a picture of Grabban's challenge, Morrison wrote "no red" and under a picture of his own tackle he wrote "red" that was accompanied by an inquisitive emoji.
Derby boss Wayne Rooney was asked about the incident after the game and said: "I have not seen it back, and I might be proven wrong, I don't think it was a red card," Rooney said.
Wallace deal hitch
Nottingham Forest's hopes of signing Jed Wallace from Millwall have hit a setback after it was claimed a deal to sign the winger is "not progressing".
Guardian journalist Will Unwin claims the Reds' Championship rivals have no interest in selling their prized asset to another club in the same division.
That is despite the winger being out of contract in the summer, meaning he will be free to leave the club for nothing.
Many had believed that would tempt Millwall into a sale in order to recoup some money for Wallace, who is considered as one of the brightest attacking talents in the division.
But Unwin said on Twitter: "Millwall not playing ball. They are not keen on selling to a Championship rival so things aren't progressing".
Derby glory
Steve Cooper really didn’t need words when asked how he was feeling as he made his way over for post-match media duties. The smile as wide as the Trent which stretched across his face said it all.
Still, the best part of 30,000 Nottingham Forest fans who had packed the City Ground to the rafters would no doubt echo his assessment.
“On top of the world,” grinned the Reds boss. As well he might be.
What a day. What a result. What an atmosphere.
Mull of Kintyre could have drowned out a jumbo jet taking off, it was that loud. Likewise, the roar which greeted goals from Lewis Grabban and Brennan Johnson, not to mention Cooper’s fist-pumps afterwards.
Grabban lifted the Brian Clough Trophy up to the stands at full-time, before the lid promptly fell off and the base seemed to drop out of his hands. It was pretty much his only slip all afternoon.
Fortunately, Forest’s grip on the three points was rather tighter. Much like the one they have held on this fixture - unbeaten against Derby County since October 2017.
