The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued a fresh warning as people are missing out on around £3,500 a year each.
The government department is responsible for distributing benefits and pensions, as well as the Cost of Living payments. On Sunday, a tweet from the DWP's official account urged people to check if they are eligible for financial support worth thousands of pounds.
It said: "If you qualify for #PensionCredit you could be on average £3,500 a year better off".
