French embassy in China abruptly cancels Pride Month film programme

The French embassy in Beijing has reportedly cancelled the screening of films celebrating Pride Month in June amid shrinking spaces for the LGBT+ community in China.

The French culture centre earlier this month announced that it would schedule screenings of two French films with a queer undertone. However, the listings for Enzo and Eat the Night were abruptly removed from the website, Hong Kong-based Ming Pao reported.
