Fred Olsen cruise ship to stay at terminal for weeks

A luxury Fred Olsen cruise liner will remain docked at Liverpool Cruise Terminal for several weeks.

Fred Olsen's luxury ship MS Borealis has been at the terminal for six days and is set to remain docked until February 11.

Today Fred Olsen confirmed to the ECHO the ship would be remaining in the terminal following a change of schedule.

The continued presence of the Borealis at Liverpool Cruise Terminal raised questions over why the ship has remained in Liverpool since January 19.

But the luxury cruise company confirmed there were no issues with the ship or the crew - and the ship is just docked while it awaits its next voyage.

Now the ship will remain in the terminal for over two weeks while it prepares for its next scheduled cruise.

The ship is set to leave Liverpool on February 11 on a 16 night tour around Norway in search of the North Lights.

Peter Deer, Managing Director at Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, said: “Earlier in the month, we made some changes to our cruise schedule.

" Borealis will now spend a short time in port in Liverpool, before setting sail on her next scheduled cruise, ‘In Search of the Northern Lights’, on February 11.”
