Pocock slams department again after blowout in problem-ridden contract

A major government agency handed Accenture an extra $21 million for a problem-ridden project, despite the audit office finding that there were major issues with the original procurement process, AusTender documents have revealed.

Department of Defence staff approved five contract extensions, options or variations on Accenture's MyClearance contract after the Australian National Audit Office published a review of the project in July 2024.

Independent senator David Pocock said he was concerned that the MyClearance contract changes may not represent value for money. Pictures by Mark Jesser, Shutterstock, Defence Images
