A fraudster who posed as a Santander worker and conned a woman out of more than £21,000 has been jailed.
Moisa Constantin-Florin called a woman in Edinburgh on June 28, 2021, and told her he worked for the bank, police said. The 24-year-old said there had been fraudulent activity on her account and that she needed to move all of her money to a new one.
The woman was convinced by the caller and sent £21,996.38 to the new account. She later became suspicious, police said, and called Santander directly to double check.
