A West Lothian man has been crowned as a leading coffee chain’s UK National Barista Champion.
Fraser Gold from Broxburn, took the accolade in the Starbucks competition.
Fraser won the annual nationwide competition that hopes to identify the best barista at the international coffee shops.
The ‘Starbucks Barista Championships’ tests the top baristas, to recognise the very best in class of Starbucks coffee craft expertise.
Fraser won out against baristas from over 1000 Starbucks coffee shops across the UK.
As the UK Champion, he will now spend the next few months competing against Starbucks baristas from 42 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), in the hope of being crowned the best in the region, this year’s 2022 ‘EMEA Barista Champion.’
He said: “The Starbucks Barista Championships was an incredible experience, I never thought I was going to make it past the first stages, never mind win.”
