Frank Lampard has revealed he tried to bring Erling Haaland to Chelsea during his first spell as head coach of the club.
Back then, Haaland, who has scored an incredible 52 goals in 49 games in all competitions for Manchester City this season, was playing his football at Borussia Dortmund. Several Premier League clubs, and other teams around Europe, were strongly linked with the Norwegian who was setting the Bundesliga alight with his inhuman knack in front of goal.
However, it was Man City that ended up winning the race for his signature and their faith in Haaland has been repaid with the striker firing his side to a potential treble this season. City are effectively three wins away from winning the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League after a record-breaking campaign for Haaland on British shores.
