Frank Lampard has spoken for the first time since he was sacked as Everton manager.
The 44-year-old lost his job as Everton boss on Monday after a run of 11 defeats in 14 games. It came just under a year after he was appointed as Rafa Benitez's successor in the Goodison Park hotseat.
Lampard guided the Blues to survival in the Premier League last season, with their safety confirmed following a dramatic 3-2 home win over Crystal Palace, which ended with relieved fans celebrating on the pitch and the former England international celebrating on top of the executive boxes.

While he was unable to build on that moment in the current campaign, Lampard leaves the club still liked by the supporters he took to his heart.
And in a post on his Instagram page, Lampard has paid tribute to Evertonians. He said: "Coming in to Everton last year I knew we were in a tough moment and I will always be proud of the incredible work and support from everyone involved to keep the team in the Premier League last season.
"Thanks to everybody that played their part as the whole club came together. I will never forget the incredible night against Palace that we shared.
"I want to thank all Evertonians for the welcome that you gave to myself, my staff, and my family. It truly is a special club with a huge heart, and an incredible history.
"I’m disappointed that we couldn’t achieve more together and wish all the players and everyone at Everton FC the very best for the future."
Lampard's statement has also been posted by the League Managers Association.
