For a moment, it felt like the Chicago Bears might have faint hope. They forced the Kansas City Chiefs to punt on their first possession, and maybe, this time, things would be different. Instead, the ceiling caved in on what might be the NFL’s worst team.
Kansas City cruised to an easy 34-0 first half, making the Bears look like a team that played in a completely different league. Justin Fields’ offense never quite got going. Matt Eberflus’ defense had positively no answer for Patrick Mahomes. And the Bears continued to flail around in a disaster season that was clearly already circling the drain. It got so bad through 30 minutes of play that Fox actually switched away from the game — one that involved Mahomes AND music megastar Taylor Swift — and which was originally a nationally televised contest.
After all, who could possibly want to continue watching the Bears bumble around hopelessly?
FOX has cut away from the Bears-Chiefs game for most of the country that was originally receiving it.
You will now be getting Cowboys-Cardinals.

This is the state of the Bears in 2023. Even the major networks are giving up on their hopes, and it isn’t even October.
This was how Twitter reacted to Fox switching away from the Chiefs' blowout of the Bears

FOX switched over to the Cowboys-Cardinals game in regions where it was showing Bears-Chiefs 😭 pic.twitter.com/42biw20Ogb

If George McCaskey gets wind of FOX taking the Bears Chiefs game off local TV, someone will be fired in Halas Hall this week
THAT is something he cares about

FOX already went away from the Chiefs-Bears game at halftime to a "more competitive game." When you get that sort of bump at halftime you know things are bad.

No way Fox actually switched broadcasts from the Bears-Chiefs game to the Cowboys-Cardinals game for competitive reasons.

Fox cut away from an NFL game with Taylor Swift visibly in attendance. That's how bad things have gotten for the #Bears.

Fox just switched over to the Cowboys game in the NYC market
You have Taylor Swift and arguably the best QB in the league and someone at Fox said “get the Bears off the screen!” pic.twitter.com/0TgVthXQkY

Bears game is so bad Fox just changed the broadcast to cowboys cardinals. What a moment in my Bears fandom. So bad they turn it off for me

On the Fox national broadcast, Curt Menefee cut away from Bears-Chiefs at halftime in order to provide the audience a "more competitive game."
If you know a Bears fan, I think they could use a hug.
