With so many injuries, Ralf Rangnick has had to call upon several of the club's exciting prospects to make up the numbers. Alvaro Fernandez, Shola Shoretire, Hannibal Mejbri and Alejandro Garnacho, who has been named on the bench in recent weeks, have been added to the squad for the visit of Chelsea.

Fernandez has earned his first call-up to the senior side having joined in with first-team training this week. The Spaniard has impressed since joining from Real Madrid in 2020 and is enjoying a strong season with the under-23s, notching four goals and six assists.

Garnacho is yet to make his senior debut for United. He's impressed in the FA Youth Cup this season having guided the Red Devils to the final with eight goal contributions to his name.
