Four Quarters announces Newcastle opening date for its first retro gaming arcade in the North East

A nostalgia-fest of games from the 1970s through to the 2000s will be on offer this December at Newcastle's new retro arcade bar Four Quarters which has now announced its opening date.

The 'FQ Newcastle' arcade, which has been taking shape inside an empty building in Dean Street, is to be unveiled at its launch on December 8, which follows a guest-only event on December 7, alongside a menu of pizza, craft beers and cocktails - just in time to take advantage of the build-up to Christmas. The city centre branch marks the first northern venture for the company which is described as the 'the UK's original arcade bar' and has four other venues around London and Bristol.

The launch also marks something of a homecoming for Francois Kitching, who is from the area and is the co-founder of Four Quarters. He has said: "We're immensely proud to be opening our latest Four Quarters location in my hometown and on a street that has been important to me for as long as I can remember.
