A 53-year-old man is dead, and a younger man and woman were injured in a horror head-on crash on the Central Coast overnight.
Police say a sedan and utility collided on The Entrance Road at Forresters Beach around 6.45pm, killing the older man on impact and injuring the other driver - a 30-year-old man who was driving the ute - and his passenger, a 29-year-old woman.
She and the younger man were taken to hospital in a stable condition, police said. The older man has not yet been formally identified.
The tragic scene preceded another unrelated crash also on the Central Coast overnight, this time involving four vehicles, which has left an elderly driver in a serious condition and another woman in hospital with minor injuries.
A 76-year-old man was assessed by paramedics at the scene just east of Racecourse Road on the Central Coast Highway around 10.30pm where four cars had collided nose-to-tail, police said in a statement on Saturday morning, September 14.
He was flown to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
A woman in her 40s was treated at the scene and later hospitalised with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.
The remaining two drivers were uninjured.
Police are said to be investigating both crashes, and anyone with information that could assist has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
