Bowel cancer is the fourth most common type of in the UK, accounting for around 11 per cent of new cancer cases.
It is also the second most deadly, causing around 16,000 people to lose their lives every year and health experts are concerned that this will only get worse as the number of young people diagnosed with the disease has doubled over the decades.
Although there are multiple signs of the disease to look out for, new research has found there are four key symptoms that signal an elevated risk of early-onset bowel cancer, reports the Express.
