In celebration of the Dead Space remake coming out this Friday, it seems only appropriate that gaming's favourite marketing vehicle – sorry, battle royale – would have another crossover.
That's right folks, it seems January is blue-collar, undead slayer month in Fortnite. First, we had the return of The Evil Dead's Ash Williams to the island. Now everyone's favourite Necromorph-slayer, Isaac Clarke, is entering the fray via the Strange Transmissions Quest Pack.
The pack, which costs £9.99 / $11.99 / AU$17.55 from the item shop, contains the Isaac Clarke skin; two back blings, including Isaac's iconic RIG that displays your health, and a model of the planet-cracking USG Ishimura; Isaac's Plasma Cutter in the form of a pickaxe; and some V-Bucks.
The Plasma Cutter also includes a handy emote that lets you quickly switch to the weapon even if you have a different pickaxe equipped. The functionality is similar to Chapter 3 Season 2's Doctor Strange skin, and gives you a light advantage over players not running with the Fortnite Dead Space skin.
On top of all of those goodies, the bundle comes with a series of quests, dubbed Strange Transmissions, which rewards you with 1,500 V-Bucks upon completion. You just need to complete the required number of Daily Bonus Goals to earn the in-game currency as the rewards.
It pays for itself
The best part of this bundle is the Strange Transmissions quests that will net you a total of 1,500 V-Bucks upon completion. So the pack essentially pays for itself, as the virtual cash equates to roughly £10 / $12 / AU$18 in real money. That's a hefty amount of V-Bucks that you could then put towards buying the skin for gaming's grumpiest monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
