Fortnite Chapter 4 could see the return of an iconic fan-favourite location

Fortnite players, get ready for a good old dose of nostalgia. Data miners have reportedly found a file which suggests the popular Tilted Towers area may return to the popular free-to-play shooter at some point in Chapter 4.

Well-known Fortnite leaker FortTory has taken to Twitter to share the news that a temporary sound file linked to a point of interest (POI) on the latest map called 'Tilted Towers' had been found within the game's code, suggesting the popular location could return at some point in the near future. This is notable because the information derived via data mining is often reliable as it represents code that is present within the game at a specific point.

With constantly evolving games like Fortnite, these are often a good indication of what is about to come, or at the very least, what ideas are being floated around before any given update goes live.

Tilted history

Tilted Towers holds a special place in the hearts of many Fortnite players as it was one of the first major additions to the map in Chapter 1, where its large size and plentiful loot made it a popular drop site. A volcanic eruption then destroyed the hamlet during the Unvaulting live event that concluded Chapter 1 Season 8, before later being resurrected during Chapter 3, with a revamped version of the iconic location returning to the game, before being destroyed again at the end of that particular chapter (along with the rest of the map).

In total there have been eight versions of Tilted Towers including Neo Tilted, Tilted Town and Gotham City,

There has been no word from Epic Games about whether Tilted Towers will return. What we do know, however, is that Fortnite is likely to return to iOS in 2023 thanks to two cryptic New Year's tweets by Epic Games, CEO Tim Sweeny, who seemingly confirmed the game's return to Apple devices, now that the legal battle between Apple and Epic has been resolved.

While we wait to see whether TIlted Towers is coming to Asteria, why not learn how to use the new handy new Falcon Scout drone or get acquainted with Chapter Four's new Augments mechanics?
