TV star Mary Kennedy has admitted she isn’t “short of work” since leaving RTE.
The Dubliner – who is singer Dermot Kennedy’s aunt – was forced to retire from Nationwide in 2019 after she turned 65.
Opening up about life after RTE, the TG4 host said: “I was sad to have had to retire. I didn’t have any choice. I did Nationwide for 15 years ad I loved it and I didn’t want to go.

“You park these things because you have to but I’m lucky I’m not short of work,” she told Sunday Independent’s Life magazine.
Mary also opened up about her relationship with Tom, who she has been dating for several years.
Her first marriage to Ronan Foster ended in 2005 after the couple tied the knot in 1990.
Mary then met Tom four and a half years ago through a mutual friend.
She said it is lovely to have a boyfriend who “has your back”.
“He’s been very much welcomed into the family. He’s from Mayo and hoping Mayo will bring Sam home this year after Joe Biden’s endorsement,” she jokes, before adding: “It’s lovely. We have a lot of shared interests, cinema, hiking, and meeting friends.
“It’s lovely to have someone you can confide in and who has your back,” she said.
