Former Man United ace among three Everton players who could miss West Ham clash through injury

Everton could be without three first-team players through injury for Saturday’s Premier League clash against West Ham United.

The London Stadium will see West Ham host Everton in a massive clash at the bottom of the table with managers David Moyes and Frank Lampard both under serious pressure at present.

For the game that sees 18th-placed Hammers play host to 19th, Everton ace James Garner, who joined the club from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, is one of three players set to miss the game through injury.

Garner is currently suffering from a back issue that has kept him out of action since the start of November, meaning he has missed each of the Toffees’ last five league games.

Winger Andros Townsend is also expected to miss out, having spent the last 11 months out with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury. The former England international is however expected back in action next month.

Right-back Nathan Patterson also has a knee injury at the moment and like Garner and Townsend, is expected to return in February.

Meanwhile, West Ham currently have only two injury absentees in goalkeeper Alphonse Areola (hip) and winger Maxwel Cornet (calf). Areola has missed the last two games, while Cornet has been out of action for the last three and a half months.

Centre-back Craig Dawson is also unlikely to feature, having been left out of Saturday’s defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers due to his uncertain future, with Wolves putting in a bid for him last week.
