Former Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll is still on the hunt for a new club, after Belgian side Club Brugge opted to not sign the 33-year-old after he reportedly 'failed tests'. Carroll, who has had two spells on Tyneside, cut short his honeymoon in the hopes of signing for the Belgian champions.
Carroll had been in Tulum in Mexico on honeymoon with his now wife, Billi Mucklow, and hoped that despite leaving the holiday early, to sign with Brugge following his medical. However, according to Belgian site HLN, following various physical and mental tests, Brugge decided against acquiring the former England international, meaning that Carroll remains a free agent.
He spent the second half of last season under previous Newcastle manager Steve Bruce at West Brom, having played for Reading during the first half of the last campaign. During those spells, he managed three goals in 15 appearances for the Baggies, compared to two goals in eight for the Royals at the start of 2021/22.
