Former CSI officer's life made hell by internet troll who 'did not like' being kicked off website

A former crime scene investigator who was trolled by an admin of an online history group was subjected to further anxiety when his abuser made more explicit threats against him. Michael Twomey, who is 70 and from Newark, thought his nightmare at the hands of Dennis Gooding was over.

Charity worker Gooding was the subject of a lifelong restraining order banning him from posting any information about retired Mr Twomey on the internet. He was convicted of an offence of harassment against the former Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire officer over an 11-month spell. The following year he was sentenced for stalking and breaching the restraining order.

Mr Twomey ran the internet site www.Nottstalgia.com, a genealogy and history website which has attracted thousands of members from across the world. He banned Gooding from the site after he left abusive and derogatory comments in 2009.
