Former Chelsea star tells Erling Haaland to make Liverpool and Man United transfer decision

Former Chelsea icon Ruud Gullit has advised Erling Haaland to snub Man United, Man City and the Blues in favour of moving to Liverpool in the summer.

The European Champions alongside Ralf Rangnick's Manchester United stood still in January with no first team players added to squads in need of a boost, as demonstrated by where both clubs are in the current Premier League table.

Meanwhile, the top two sides in the standings added Luis Diaz and Junior Alvarez to their respective squad rosters as both Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp plan for future title assaults.

Haaland, a player who has been admired by Thomas Tuchel in the past, sat back and watched the January transfer chaos proceed knowing that it will be his time soon to make a decision, as hinted in his recent comments regarding pressures from the Borussia Dortmund board who are pushing their No.9 to hurry up in a sense.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I don't really want to say too much about it (the comments), but I felt it was time for me to say something.

"A lot of others were speaking - so that was it. Now, I don't want to say too much. I said what I said, and now we move on."

The £135million valued player whose £63million release clause kicks in at the end of the 2021/22 campaign, has been touted as a viable option for Liverpool and Man United to consider respectively, with ex-Dutch star Gullit not even involving Chelsea in the discussion.

Most likely because the Blues have £97.5million club-record signing Romelu Lukaku on their books, whilst City may have finally signed their long-term Sergio Aguero heir in the form of the young South American footballer of the year.

Nonetheless, Gullit, made his views well known about which Premier League clubs suits the player in question.

"I see him in England but I don’t think he goes to Manchester United. City would be good for him because of Pep Guardiola. But Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool would also be great," Gullet told Bild.

"What Jurgen has done with this club is unbelievable. You just have to love him and he’s always hungry. That suits Haaland. In Spain only Real is an option. These are the three clubs that will be in the running for Erling."

Haaland has once again impressed for Dortmund this season with 23 goals and six assists in all competitions.

Despite Gullit's view, all interested Premier League clubs still have their work cut out with Alf Inge Haaland's son reportedly favouring a move to La Liga instead of England, as per Gianluca Di Marzio.
