Veteran safety John Johnson III didn’t pass on an opportunity to a little shade at his former team. After his current team – the Los Angeles Rams – beat his old team – the Cleveland Browns – Johnson took to X (former Twitter) with a succinct to response to the 36-19 win.

It helped, too, that Johnson picked off Joe Flacco with 6:44 left in the fourth quarter to end a Browns drive while Cleveland trailed by one point.
PICKED!
Joe Flacco tried to go deep, but John Johnson gets the Int and the Rams have the ball and the lead!

Johnson’s interception set up a five-play, 24-yard touchdown drive for the Rams that effectively put the game out of reach for the Browns with 3:48 left in the game.
Johnson started 32 games for the Browns from 2021 to 2022 after he signed a three-year, $33.75 million. He registered four interceptions, nine defended passes, 162 combined tackles and one sack. Cleveland released him after the 2022 season in what was effectively a salary cap cut – Johnson’s $3.75 million dead cap hit is still on the books this season.
He signed with the Rams before the 2023 season after he played the first four years of his NFL career in Los Angeles.
