Forget butter yellow – Charlotte Hawkins' gorgeous sunshine-coloured dress has completely won me over

A headshot of charlotte hawkins.

Although last year's summer was dominated by butter yellow, when it comes to the biggest spring/summer fashion colour trends of 2026, sunshine yellow has been a huge hit, and Charlotte Hawkins brightened up my morning in her gorgeous dress.

The presenter shared a snap on her Instagram wearing an elegant, fitted dress by The Fold which showed off the primary hue in all its glory, and Charlotte styled it perfectly with just a pair of beige court shoes. Despite the boldness of the dress, the curve-loving fit that nipped in at the waist had a very elevated and grown-up look that would make an ideal addition to a summer capsule wardrobe.

A great wedding guest dress option or to channel some sunny joy at any other upcoming summer event, I've got the exact match and some bright alternatives below.

This bodycon dress will feel comfortable to wear thanks to a stretch fabric and will look great worn with flesh-toned heels like Charlotte, to make sure the dress gets the attention it deserves.

Delicate frilly sleeves and a subtle fluted hem bring a pretty and feminine feel to this design, and the empire line makes it a stylish dress to hide a tummy. On sale for an absolute bargain price, make sure to snap this sunny dress up.

A zip front adds a sporty spin to this otherwise classic fit-and-flare design that makes it brilliantly versatile for both day or night plans. With a gently dropped-waist shape, this dress is trending on two fronts.

Perfect for holidays or for bringing some glamour to your back garden BBQ, this textured midi dress will wow with raffia wedges and oversized shades. I love the short sleeves for just the right amount of summer coverage.

You might not expect to find show-stopping frocks from Amazon, but this bold number will show off the yellow aesthetic perfectly. With statement shoulders, it's bound to get you a stack of compliments.

Intricate embroidery all over this midaxi brings a soft and boho touch to the sunny shade. Wear with a floppy hat and your most comfortable sandals. Don't forget your raffia bag.

While sunshine yellow might seem extra bold, this cheerful hue is more wearable than you might expect and feels particularly special for this time of year.

When it comes to accessories, you have lots of options as the bright, block colour acts as a clean base that can be styled in multiple ways. Take note from the star and stick with neutral heels for an understated feel, or try adding metallic gold sandals and plenty of chunky jewels for a little more glamour. Printed jackets and patterned bags will really pop against the primary shade too - try jumbo florals, leopard spots or a graphic stripe.

Yellow always works over the summer, so if you invest in a dress like the above now, I guarantee that you'll be pulling it out of your wardrobe for a special occasion for years to come.
